Losing a teenager to suicide or substance use is an unimaginable trauma, and the pain can be incredibly complex. If you’ve experienced this loss, you may be navigating a difficult grief journey filled with emotions like shame, guilt, anger, blame, shock, and isolation—feelings that can be overwhelming to process. This group is open to Mothers grieving the loss a child under the age of 18 to suicide or substance use.
We recommend that individuals wait 5 to 6 months after their loss before joining this group.
The group will consist of 8 to 10 members, along with two facilitators. Each participant is working through their own challenging emotions, and our meetings provide a safe, intimate space to share your feelings and honor the memory of your loved one.
Sessions will be held virtually, guided by a Dr. Alan D. Wolfelt book. We can provide the link to purchase a book.
This support group meets every Thursday for 10 weeks via Zoom from 11am to 12:30pm MST (10am PST, 12 CST, 1pm EST). Sessions begin on January 23 and end on March 27.
Session Dates: January 23, 30, February 6, 13, 20, 27 March 6, 13, 20, 27
