What is A Grief Companion?
A grief companion is someone who knows the debilitating effects of grief and has been journeying through it. They offer support, encouragement, hope and enlightenment to the mourner that will bring about a journey that moves through the grief and into a life of meaning and purpose.
Join Jean and Marianne for a candid discussion about how to “stay present” with your pain even when it seems unbearable. Jean and Marianne will share their personal experiences and provides some insights to help you heal.

Jean Nictakis – Jean is a certified Spiritual Director through Christian Disciple Fellowship Ministry, a Reiki Master Teacher, and has received grief companion training by Dr. Alan Wolfelt. She maintains professional memberships in the Healing Touch Professional Association, the Arizona Enneagram Association, and Hospice of the Valley. Jean uses Reiki and Guided Meditations focusing on clearing energy blocks to enhance over all well-being. Jean is also the Author of “A Guide to Love”, a book containing channeled spiritual messages focusing on the perennial questions: why am I here? where was I before I was here? and where will I go when I’m not here?
Marianne Gouveia is a Certified Professional Coach (CPC) and a Certified Grief Companion trained by Dr. Alan Wolfelt. In February of 2016, she lost her son Eric at the young age of 27 to suicide after a long struggle with addiction. She understands how difficult and complicated this loss is. Her is passion is helping grievers find their spiritual footing so that they may experience joy and happiness once again. Marianne is the founder of EricsHouse Inc., a non-profit organization that specializes bereavement support for those who have been impacted by suicide or addiction loss.
